OUR RESCUE PARTNERS
Alison Eastwood, the founder of Eastwood Ranch Foundation, was born in Los Angeles and raised in beautiful Pebble Beach, CA. Her family instilled in her a love of animals and nature in the gorgeous surroundings of the central coast where she grew up. Alison followed in her father’s footsteps and became an actor/director in the film industry. She found her passion for animals in 2011 when she co-created/EP the TV show Animal Intervention with her long-time friend Maissa Dauraic. After selling the show to National Geographic Wild, Alison embarked on a journey of animal rescue and became an advocate for abused and neglected animals around the US. In 2012, she co-founded Eastwood Ranch Foundation to save animals from high-kill shelters in Southern California and beyond. She also raises funds for animal sanctuaries, animal non-profits and supports many animal welfare causes. She continues to be a voice for the voiceless and helps save lives daily. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Stacy Poitras.
The Eastwood Ranch Foundation’s goal is not only to rescue animals from high-kill shelters but to help reduce pet overpopulation and increase pet adoptions through campaigns, events, education, spay/neuter programs, and rescue partnerships. They achieve this through developing strategic alliances with other non-profits and rescue groups, such as Paradise Valley.
Paradise Valley received a phone call from a woman who worked at a local equestrian school. The contact called about an Arabian that had been donated to their lesson program years ago. The school asked Annette to take him because he was scheduled to be put down the following week. Annette asked them to give him at least six months to be out to pasture and was appalled to find out that they thought it would cost too much money to do so. Annette quickly called her friend and founder of Peace 4 Animals, Katie Cleary. Katie immediately said, “Yes, let’s go get him!” They picked up the 27-year-old horse and named him Hope. From that day on, Hope was given a loving and safe environment to enjoy his retirement. This wonderful horse was the first animal rescued as a partnership between Peace 4 Animals and Paradise Valley, and he is not going to be the last.
Katie, who founded Peace 4 Animals, is a well-known model and actress, but her philanthropy makes the biggest impact in our world today. Her dedication to animals started at an early age, and this passion led her to found Peace 4 Animals, a non-profit animal welfare organization. Peace 4 Animal’s vision is to create a world that lives in harmony with all animals and works to protect them against harmful human interference. Peace 4 Animals works alongside organizations such as Paradise Valley to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for domestic animals. Katie is a leader in animal welfare for our generation and uses her platform to educate and create awareness. One such example is "Give Me Shelter," her award-winning documentary. This film, produced by Cleary, examines what rescue organizations do and the stark reality of the cruelties animals endure. Paradise Valley is featured in this film, giving light to how many animals are dumped and abused every day.
